UK-based Marketing Manager

Location: Bristol, UK

The role is key to developing the company’s strategic marketing plan and managing the implementation and tactical delivery of marketing activity to drive growth and new business. You will communicate the marketing activities across the business and will have a real opportunity to affect change and deliver for the business as a whole. Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director and with line management responsibility for a Marketing Executive, there is real scope for influence and challenge.

Main duties include

  • Overseeing, tracking and evaluating all marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
  • Planning and executing marketing campaigns such as lead generation programs, sales promotions, event plans and other customer interactions.
  • Managing the company’s website and related aspects including search engine placement, online advertising and online directory entries.
  • Liaising with, and contributing to the marketing efforts of, our US subsidiary and our overseas product distributors.
  • Developing and implementing the company’s annual marketing plan and delivering all marketing activity within the set budget.
  • Ensuring all campaigns are followed up correctly and client contact is recorded on the company database.
  • Taking responsibility for managing the company’s brands and continuing to build brand awareness including the generation of outbound PR
  • Working closely with all areas of the business in the development of new ideas and marketing initiatives.
  • Analysing existing and potential market segments and developing marketing strategies and tactics to address these segments in the most efficient way.
  • Analysing results of all marketing activities and compiling reports as necessary and presenting findings/recommendations to senior management.
  • Analysing previous marketing activity along with resulting sales
  • Monitoring the competitors, market trends and generally developing expert market knowledge in order to identify and act upon new opportunities as and when they arise.

Experience and Qualifications

This role requires a dynamic and innovative marketing professional who has:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts, with a particular strength in product management and campaign development.
  • A proven track record of strategic and operational marketing experience from a B2B background. 
  • A marketing or business-related degree, or a professional marketing qualification such as the CIM or IDM Diploma.

Requirements

The successful candidate may be expected to work additional hours at certain times to ensure that targets are met.  This is a Thornbury based appointment but with responsibilities for London based marketing staff and events, regular travel will be required.
